Time: Refreshments, bookstall and membership from 7:00 pm, Lecture begins at 7:30 pm
About the Speaker: Hind currently holds a position as a Specialist for Marine Threatened Species and Habitats at the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, and has been since 2014. She has recently graduated from the University of Leeds with an MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation and holds a BSc in Environmental Science from Abu Dhabi University. She is very fervent about the work she does and is more specifically interested in marine turtles. Her master’s degree thesis concentrated on one species of marine turtles, the hawksbill turtles, which are found nesting and foraging in the waters of Abu Dhabi and is entitled Nesting Ecology of Hawksbill Turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) on Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Information on hawksbill turtles from the Gulf region is scarce and this project was the first attempt to understand the nesting ecology and behavior of hawksbill turtles in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
