Talk Summary:

Patsy Whiteman and Aurore Queromain, Year 13 students from the British School Al Khubairat organised an expedition to Dominica, West Indies with Operation Wallacea.

Operation Wallacea is an NGO which establishes conservation projects in locations with threatened biodiversity, with the help of governments and local populations.

Dominica, known as the Nature Isle of the Caribbean, is a rich biodiversity hotspot with many opportunities for conservation. This includes setting up mist nets to investigate bird and bat distributions, snorkeling through underwater volcanic fumeroles to assess adaptations and population distributions in response to acidity changes, and many more fascinating field studies.
